The Florida Gators got blown out by a very bad Georgia team this weekend. The Gators never had a led in the game and in fact they were losing even before time came off the clock.

Florida entered Tuesday’s game at Vanderbilt hoping for a win for a couple reasons. First, it would get the bad taste out of the Gators’ mouths after losing at 11th-place Georgia on Saturday. Although Florida is without reserve forward Will Yeguete for the rest of the year because of a broken foot, it didn’t have the effort needed to beat the Bulldogs, coach Billy Donovan said.

A Most Vicious Dunk
Take a look at this dunk by USC recruit Nelson Agholor. Before you move, note that this young man is out of a small school in the Tampa area called Berkley Prep, and he’s a football stud recruit who picked the Trojans over the Gators. You didn’t read the headline wrong, this is a dunk in an actual game. You have to be sitting down to watch.

The Gators of Lake Cormorant are a program on the rise. Linebacker Benny McCall looks to be a leader for the Gator defense this fall. College recruiters have begun reaching out to McCall to learn more about him and what he may bring to their program.

The Vanderbilt Commodores will close out the 2011-12 home portion of their schedule with a game against the #16/12-ranked Florida Gators Tuesday night at Memorial Gym. Tip time is set for 8 p.m., and the action can be seen live on ESPN and heard on the Vanderbilt IMG College Radio Network in middle Tennessee and online at vucommodores.com.
Two games left in the regular season isn’t the ideal time for Billy Donovan to be pushing players on his team to step up and lead, but it’s the situation he’s stuck in after Saturday’s loss at Georgia. Losing Will Yeguete for the season hurt the mentality of the Gators, and Donovan is still waiting for someone to step up. If no one does, the season could end quicker than Florida expected.
