Kevin Coble, a forward who led Northwestern in scoring and rebounding in his last full season, has decided not to play his senior season with the Wildcats and will graduate from the university in December. Coble missed 2009-10 after opting to have foot surgery on the eve of the season. Coble was injured in an early November practice. The Wildcats went 20-14 without him, 7-11 in the Big Ten Conference. As a junior in 2008-09, Coble averaged 15.5 points and 4.8 rebounds and was selected second-team All-Big Ten. "We wish Kevin nothing but the best in his future endeavors," Northwestern coach Bill Carmody said in a statement. "We want to thank him for his contributions to the program over the past four years." In his statement, Coble did not give a concrete explanation for his decision not to play this season, instead thanking the university, the administration, Wildcats fans and his teammates.
