We are 6 months away from football starting back up, so now it is time to turn our attention to college basketball. Kentucky and Syracuse have been dominating hardwood while all of our focus has been on the gridiron. Both teams have outstanding starting fives, led by Anthony Davis and Kris Joseph, respectively. Ohio State follows them in the rankings and has only suffered 3 losses thus far. It doesn’t seem like they have quite played to their full potential as of yet, and have had to navigate through the vicious Big 10 schedule while remaining at the top of the conference standings. Mizzou has surprised many with their consistent play and is ranked 4th in the country. North Carolina is sure to fall out of the top 5 after their heart-breaking loss to Duke early this week at the hands of Austin Rivers. A slew of teams fight for next best, such as former NCAA Champions like Florida, Duke, Michigan State and Kansas, along with Top 10 newcomers Baylor and Murray State. However, Murray State suffered a terrible loss earlier in the week and will drop far when the new rankings come out.

Today’s schedule is highlighted by Michigan State @ Ohio State. The Spartans have surprised a lot of people, including their own coach and fans with their surprising play this year after losing Kalin Lucas and Durrell Summers. They have a shot to move into a first place tie with the Buckeyes with a victory in Columbus, but that will be a tough go, as OSU has been a thorn in Izzo’s side the last few years, especially on the road.
