It lacked aesthetics, but the Oklahoma Sooners pulled off a 64-52 win over Texas A&M on Saturday.  It was a low scoring affair that, consequently, was both their best defensive effort and worst offensive effort of the season.  The Sooners shot just 39.6% from the floor, but held the Aggies to 26.9%.  Even more abysmal was the Aggies three point percentage, which was 8.7% (2-for-23). Jordan Woodard was the lone Sooner to score in double digits, with 20 points.  The freshman was his usual self in that he was aggressive in attacking the rim, getting to the line a total of 10 times on the evening. Jordan Woodard leads the Sooners with 20 point in the win. (Photo via Soonersports.com) Aside from Woodard, Frank Booker made an impact, scoring nine points in 20 minutes off the bench.  Booker connected on three of his four attempted three pointers.  Buddy Hield saw his streak of 10 straight games with double digit scoring snapped, as he only managed six against the Aggie defense.  Tyler Neal provided some solid minutes, scoring eight points and grabbing 10 boards in 18 minutes of action, while Ryan Spangler led the Sooners with 13 rebounds. The first half was an atrocious display of offense or a terrific display of defense, depending on how you look at it.  The teams combined to shoot 14-for-57 from the field in the half, and at halftime the score was 23-14 in favor of the Sooners.  The second half was much more entertaining from an offensive standpoint, as the teams came out determined to put their offensive woes behind them.  It wasn’t perfect, but the score for that half ended up being a much improved 41-38. Overall, it was a solid win for the Sooners.  Despite their struggles, they managed to play a solid defensive game, and come out with a win.  One positive to take away from this was that the Sooners won the rebounding battle 50-39 and outscored the Aggies 19-6 on second chance points. Next up, the Sooners (11-1) will take on Louisiana Tech (9-3) in their final non-conference game of the season.  Tip-off is set for 7 PM CST on Dec. 30 at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman.
