The only real reason to get excited about this game was to see the debut of heralded high school start Jelan Kendrick, the former McDonald's All-American. That balloon got popped about 30 minutes before tip-off by the announcement of Andy Kennedy's decision to sit Kendrick another game. According to the coach, Kendrick isn't ready to put on the uniform. He didn't go into specifics, but Kennedy implied that the sports hernia wasn't the only reason Kendrick was in street clothes. Kennedy said Kendrick wasn't ready physically, mentally or emotionally. You'd think 15 months of sitting out would be long enough to help a promising player become mentally and emotionally ready. In Kendrick's case, I guess you'd be wrong. With Kendrick on the bench it was just another ho-hum game against a lackluster opponent. The Rajin Cajuns were only 5-6 coming into this game, so it's hard to be impressed with the 12-point victory. Nobody was particularly spectac...
