The Syracuse Orange had a fantastic 2011-12 season which fell one game shy of the Final Four. With Fab Melo, Syracuse likely would have made it to the Final Four and eventually challenged Kentucky for the title.

Now, it’s time to turn the page for Jim Boeheim as Syracuse hits the hardwood without mainstays Kris Joseph, Scoop Jardine, and Dion Waiters. Add Melo to that mix and Syracuse will have to restructure its chemistry, going forward in 2012-13.
“We’ve never had a team, that I can remember, lose this many guys who were such important parts of what we did and if we had a team that had lost even close to what this team did, we certainly weren’t picked in the top 20 the next year,” said Boeheim.
Syracuse was picked second in the the Big East behind Louisville at the Big East Media Day last week and also will start the season at No. 9 in the USA Today coaches poll.
