New York City has a new street ball legend.

The basketball world is buzzing with reports of Bronx-bred college basketball star Corey Fisher's jaw-dropping 105-point game at a playground in his home borough.

Though the feat wasn't videotaped, attendees of the Dyckman Park Basketball game at Watson Gleason Playground last Saturday confirm that the Villanova University guard torched his semipro opponents.

"At the end of the third quarter, I had 71 points," Fisher told the Daily News yesterday. "I was pretty tired. But I kept pushing. I continued to score and score."

Fisher's performance bests by five points what is believed to be the previous record, set in 1978 by the legendary Fly Williams in Jamaica, Queens.

He now ranks among such street ball icons as Earl (The Goat) Manigault and Nate (Tiny) Archibald, said Dyckman Park Basketball program supervisor Isaiah Brown, who saw the game, put on by Dyckman Youth Enterprises.

"[Fisher's tally] has to be a street ball record," said Brown.

The game's announcer, Joe Pope, told The News that Fisher scored 105 of the Dyckman team's 138 points. The captain of the opposing team, GymsRatsNYC, and other witnesses also confirmed the score, Rivals.com reported.

Fisher's scorching hot streak carried his team to a 138-130 victory, said Kenneth Stevens, Dyckman president.News of Fisher's score went viral on Twitter this week, as fans and skeptics weighed in. The hype took Fisher by surprise.

"I didn't think nothing of it," he said.

The 6-foot-1 senior hit a deep three-point shot to open Saturday's 40-minute game and never looked back, said Brown.

"Everybody knew Corey would have a big night. But nobody knew it would be as big as it was," he said.

As Fisher heated up, his Bronx fans turned up the volume.

"He was the hometown hero," said Brown. "As soon as he got to 99, the crowd started to go bonkers."

I find it hard to believe that not one person had a video camera at a street ball game.
