Fort Myers has always been known more for being just another touristy old person beach city in southern Florida, but today they are claiming the title of “Dunk City,” thanks to the unprecedented run by the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles. Hey man, I think that’s pretty damn cool of them to do that. Nobody is ever going to recognize that city as a college town, but nice of them to embrace the team for the time being. It is also good business for them as well For those not in the know, the term Dunk City is courtesy the high-flying style of the team as of late in the NCAA Tournament and inspired by this rap video made for the team:
