Despite a roster that includes nine freshmen and very little college-level playing experience, the Kentucky Wildcats were expected by many to have a chance at going undefeated this season to become the first 40-0 men’s basketball team in history. Three games in, that dream is over. Michigan State’s victory over the Wildcats Tuesday night ended the team’s “pursuit of perfection.” Appropriately, t-shirts with that exact phrase, licensed by UK, have hit the clearance rack. Plus, it’s about time some realistic expectations were set for UK – perhaps this will bode well for the team.
