Rick Pitino said on his radio show last night that he hoped to get sophomore’s Wayne Blackshear and Chane Behanan “going” prior to his team’s departure to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis. Blackshear is finally 100% healthy for the first time since he’s been at Louisville. He missed the majority of last season with a shoulder injury. The expectations from Blackshear heading into his sophomore year were pretty lofty, in my opinion. Although he’s as physically talented as anyone on the Louisville roster, you’ve got to think he is still shaking off some rust after missing so much action over past 18-months. In his post game press conference from the Manhattan game on Sunday, Pitino was critical of Blackshear, stating that he needs to knock down more of the open looks that he is getting. With Luke Hancock not playing as well as we’d hoped, the opportunity is there for Blackshear. Getting some confidence in a game like tonight could really help Wayne get into a rhythm offensively. PItino taking notes during Louisville’s romp over Samford

Just a nice, easy 80-54 win over Samford in one of those early season learning sessions for the University of Louisville basketball team. A far cry from the edge-of-the-seat games in which they will soon be immersed. Off week is anything but off for Louisville football

Tough weekend for University of Louisville football diehards. Trying to make sense of a 45-26 beating at Syracuse, hoping it was an aberration, not a trend. Knowing that a previously undefeated team, that wasn’t getting better, now has the full attention of Charlie Strong. Forced to wait another week for the arrival of UConn at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. Safe to surmise...

Samford-Louisville Preview

Louisville coach Rick Pitino dished out plenty of praise following a season-opening victory, though that may have been expected given the amount of contributors that returned from last season's Final Four team.
