The word spread pretty fast on Thursday evening as Rick Pitino gave an update on Chane Behanan’s suspension while he was in Owensboro, KY., for a book signing. Pitino told a local reporter who was at the book signing that Behanan would be back with the team “in a short period of time.” Just one day his comments had went viral, Pitino spoke with Dana O’Neil of ESPN.com to clarify Behnan’s current status. “Chane is doing the right things but he is not on the team right now,” Pitino tells ESPN. “He is doing all the things necessary to be back on the team. I still don’t envision him rejoining the team until December. He may practice in November, but I don’t anticipate him playing in any games before December and that’s only if he continues to do the right things.” Although there isn’t a specific date to target for Behanan’s return, things are certainly looking better than they were a week ago.
