This post is part of The Arena Pulse's Player of the Night feature.
Each morning throughout the 2011-12 season, The Arena Pulse will select and name its "Player of the Night" from the previous evening's action.
Belmont (6-3) and Middle Tennessee State (10-2) took to the court on Tuesday night, squaring off for the second time this season.
A double-overtime thriller between the two squads ended in Belmont's favor back on Nov. 20, yet Middle Tennessee State was able to ensure its revenge on Tuesday thanks in large part to the performance of its senior big man.
The winner of The Arena Pulse's Player of the Night (12/13):
Name: LaRon Dendy
School: Middle Tennessee State
Class: Senior
Position: Center
Stat Line: 20 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal
After beginning the season with a pair of tough tests at both Duke and Memphis, Belmont responded by collecting six consecutive wins.
That win streak came to an end on Tuesday night, as Middle Tennessee State continues to prove its worth early on this season.
The Blue Raiders improved to 10-2 on the year, thanks to a 20-point, 9-rebound performance from senior LaRon Dendy.
Dendy finished the game 5-of-11 from the field, but was 10-of-18 from the free throw line. Dendy was also credited with four assists and two blocks in the victory.
Middle Tennessee became the first team from the Sun Belt Conference to reach the 10-win plateau this season, a mark that also includes a victory over UCLA.
MTSU will continue action on Dec. 21 when they travel to Oxford to square up against Ole Miss.
