Each morning throughout the 2011-12 season, The Arena Pulse will select and name its "Player of the Night" from the previous evening's action.
As the Christmas holiday approaches, a number of top teams were in action on Thursday night, as the non-conference schedule nears an end.
Despite many higher-rated games taking place, the nation's top performance came from the Fordham-Texas State contest, a game in which the Rams' leader and low post threat stole the show with a terrific performance.

Fordham forward Chris Gaston is among the top rebounders in the country.
A double-double machine, Gaston is currently averaging 14.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. Through the first 11 games of the season, the 6-foot-7 forward has recorded nine double-doubles.
On Tuesday night, Gaston helped fuel victory for the Rams, scoring 35 points while also grabbing 15 boards in the team's 81-70 victory over Texas State.
Both stats were game-highs, as Fordham improved to 5-6 overall and 4-1 at Rose Hill Gym.
Gaston was highly efficient in the victory, shooting 13-of-17 from the field, while also converting on 9-of-12 free throws. His 35 points were a season-high, while the 15 boards only tied a season-high.
Over the course of the last three games, Gaston has secured 44 rebounds, which is good enough for an average of 14.6 per contest.
Fordham (5-6) will hit the court again on Dec. 29, as Georgia Tech (7-5) pays a visit to the Bronx. The game is schedule for an 8:00pm EST tip.
