This post is part of The Arena Pulse's Player of the Night feature.

Each morning throughout the 2011-12 season, The Arena Pulse will select and name its "Player of the Night" from the previous evening's action.

Just three days after being held to a season-low 50 points, Indiana's offense found themselves clicking on all cylinders on Sunday, rolling to a 103-89 victory over Iowa.

The 103 points marked the first time since 1995 that the Hoosiers had scored triple-digits offensively in a conference game.

At the end of the day it was Indiana's leading scorer and freshman star that set the pace for the needed victory.

The winner of The Arena Pulse's Player of the Night (1/29):

Name: Cody Zeller
School: Indiana
Class: Freshman
Position: Forward

Stat Line: 26 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 1 block

After mustering only 50 points in a Thursday night loss to Wisconsin, the Hoosiers were in desperate need of a victory on Sunday against a visiting Iowa squad.

The nation's 14th ranked offense (79.5 ppg) got a career-high 26 points from freshman star Cody Zeller, helping Indiana get back to .500 within the conference.

At 17-5 overall and 5-5 in the Big Ten, the Hoosiers are bound for the NCAA Tournament, but after a 15-1 start to the season, it has become clear that Indiana may be hitting a little mid season slump.

The Hoosiers are just 2-4 over their past six games, with victories over Penn State and most recently, Iowa.

Indiana fans are hoping their offensive output on Sunday will help garner some momentum as the Hoosiers hit the road for a pair of pivotal conference games this week.

In addition to his 26 points on Sunday, Zeller also recorded four rebounds, four assists, and three steals in just 28 minutes of action.

Zeller found himself scoring via a number of dunk opportunities as the Hoosiers had built up a double-digit lead by halftime. In fact, Indiana scored 54 points in yesterday's opening half, surpassing the 50-point mark that they had finished the game with last Thursday.

Indiana (17-5, 5-5) must now prepare for a crucial stretch with road games at Michigan (2/1) and at Purdue (2/4) this week.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Freshmen Cody Zeller had a career high 26 points, on 11-12 shooting from the field in Indiana’s 103-89 victory over Iowa. Frosh Zeller making a difference for Indiana

For all the attention Trey Burke has received for his outstanding freshman season, he has some Big Ten competition. Indiana freshman forward Cody Zeller is averaging 15.2 points and has only two single-figure scoring games the entire Big Ten season.

Hoosiers Take Care Of Hawkeyes With Ease 103-89

Any questions about whether or not this young and fiery Indiana Hoosiers basketball team was having offensive troubles were put to rest Sunday night in Bloomington. That is because the Hoosiers, led by the career high 26 points of uber-talented Freshman center Cody Zeller, dispatched the Iowa Hawkeyes pretty handily, pulling out a 103-89 win to improve to 17-5 overall, and 5-5 in...

IU-Iowa Postgame Show

Indiana defeated Iowa 103-89 tonight in Bloomington, scoring 100 points against a Big Ten team for the first time since 1995 (according to Twitter reports that I did not verify but trust nonetheless). It was a terrific offensive explosion from the Hoosiers against a very poor defensive team. Still, IU took advantage of what the defense offered and got their 100 points because of...
