Each morning throughout the 2011-12 season, The Arena Pulse will select and name its "Player of the Night" from the previous evening's action.

Yesterday marked yet another spectacular day of college hoops, headlined by a battle of Big 12 heavyweights in match-up that did not disappoint.

Missouri rallied late, knocking off Kansas at home in a contest that potentially may have marked the final meeting in the long-standing "Border War."

The ever-so-dangerous Mizzou back court once again showcased its true ability, as one lead guard stole the show in the Tigers' come-from-behind win.

The winner of The Arena Pulse's Player of the Night (2/4):

Name: Marcus Denmon
School: Missouri
Class: Senior
Position: Guard

Stat Line: 29 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal

Senior guard Marcus Denmon stole the show last night, as the Tigers rallied late and upended a tough and opposing Kansas squad.

Denmon converted on a three-point play and buried a pair of shots from distance in the final 2:05 of the contest, including a go-ahead triple with 56 seconds to play.

The Tigers, who currently rank among the nation's best free throw shooting teams, iced the game at the line late, securing a 74-71 victory on Saturday night.

The win for Missouri effectively brought the trio of Big 12 heavyweights to a dead heat in the conference, as Missouri, Kansas, and Baylor are all knotted up at 8-2 in league play.

This week marks a pivotal stretch for each contender, as Missouri must quickly turn the page with another conference showdown looming next weekend.

Denmon finished the game with 29 points, just two shy of his career-high, converting on 10-of-16 shots in the game. The senior was 6-of-9 from distance, carrying a squad that shot 45.5% from beyond the arc as a team.

In addition to his offensive output, Denmon also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, while contributing a pair of assists and one steal to his credit.

Missouri (21-2, 8-2) hits the road on Monday, heading to Oklahoma (13-9, 3-7) for a 7 p.m. (EST) scheduled start. The Tigers will then go for the season sweep of Baylor (21-2, 8-2) next Saturday in Columbia.
