It has come to the point of the season where you can say that every single game has a significant impact on Purdue’s (15-9) tourney resume. Some of Purdue’s upcoming contests are absolutely critical to the Boilermakers’ chances of going dancing. Purdue’s game against Northwestern (15-8) is one of those games. In the previous game against the Wildcats, Purdue won a hard fought defensive battle in Evanston despite being outrebounded 41-27. Not that Purdue played a perfectly scripted game, but the Boilers will have to force the Wildcats to make an uncharacteristic high amount of turnovers like last time or improve their rebounding. In the last contest, Purdue forced 16 turnovers and only committed 5. No doubt, that statistic enabled Purdue to pull off the road victory.
