-- UNC head coach Roy Williams after point guard KendallMarshall was injured in the Tar Heels victory over Creighton. According to a UNC spokesman, Marshall has afracture of the scaphoid bone in his right wrist. The scaphoid bone is located on the thumbside of the wrist near the area where the wrist bends. Marshall’s wrist was placed in cast.
Williams had the media clear out of the locker room so hecould address the team to tell them about Marshall’s injury.
Prior to that, Williams was one of many different people tocome and go from the trainer's room. Someone brought a bag of ice, Marshall'sfamily were escorted in to see the point guard and several doctors were broughtin and out.
A UNC spokesman also informed the media that Marshall wouldnot speak to the press.A statement released by the Univeristy suggested there wouldbe no additional news on Marshall’s status until tomorrow.
