Found March 16, 2009 on *D Rich Tandler's Real Redskins:

According to a broad cast report, Renaldo Wynn is back with the Redskins.

He'll be 35 by the time the season starts so he's not the long-term answer the Redskins need on the left side of the defensive line. But he certainly can help out in a rotational role. Perhaps he and Phillip Daniels can man the right side of the D-line on running downs and then slide inside and yield to Chris Wilson and/or Rob Jackson in passing situations.

Wynn played in all 16 games for the Giants last year. He got two sacks, almost as many as Jason Taylor had. The terms of his contract aren't yet known, but it's a good bet that he signed for the vet minimum.

The beat writers at Redskins Park have missed the accommodating Wynn since he was released after the 2006 season. He always was good for a thoughtful answer and it seemed that his finger was on the pulse of the team. I think that he can be of value to the careers of Wilson, Jackson, and any other young DE the Redskins might bring on.
