It’s pretty funny seeing the media get teased sometimes by the players and coaches. That’s exactly what happened on Saturday after Louisville‘s crushing 99-47 victory over Missouri-Kansas City, where Cardinals head coach Rick Pitino answered a reporter’s cell phone in the middle of his press conference. The reporter, who is identified as WNDA host Bob Domine, left his phone on the podium. Pitino picked it up and answered as if it was his own. Pitino then went on to have a conversation with a woman, who asked about meeting up somewhere after work. Pitino played along, saying he is in the middle of a press conference and that he can’t go because he has to do some “recruiting.” Pitino then eventually handed the phone back to Domine, saying, ”Some people want to have a drink with you, Bob. And they want to meet at Jeff Ruby’s.” Boy, I can’t imagine how much embarrassment Domine felt from that. Good humor by Pitino there, though. Props.
