Dwayne Evans scored 18 points and Saint Louis played solid defense to defeat St. Bonaventure 67-57 in an Atlantic 10 Conference game Saturday.
The Billikens (14-5, 3-2) came in as the league's top defense, holding opponents to 57.9 points per game, and limited the Bonnies (9-10, 2-4), who had averaged 72.1 points, to 36.2 percent shooting (17 of 47), including 2 of 16 on 3-pointers.
Saint Louis scored 27 points off 19 St. Bonaventure turnovers to the Bonnies' 16 points on 13 turnovers, and the Billikens had a 16-2 edge in fast-break points. Cody Ellis had four steals to go with 10 points for Saint Louis.
Evans scored on a dunk and a 3-pointer as the Billikens scored the game's first seven points. St. Bonaventure got back to within 9-7 before a 10-0 run by Saint Louis.
Demitrius Conger led the Bonnies with 15 points.
