James Rahon scored 19 points and Chase Tapley added 17 points to lead San Diego State to an 80-55 win over UC Riverside on Monday night.
San Diego State (10-2) never trailed as it ran its all-time record to 9-0 against the Highlanders. The Aztecs jumped out to a 13-2 lead less than 4 minutes into the game behind Rahon's eight points.
Phil Martin led UC Riverside (4-7) with 16 points and Elliott Berry had 14 as the Highlanders shot just 37 percent from the field.
Rahon hit 7 of 11 shots and was 5 of 8 from 3-point range. It was the first time this season Rahon had made more than one 3-point shot in a game; he entered the game making 21 percent on 3-pointers.
Tapley made 7 of 8 shots from the field as the Aztecs shot 55 percent.
