According to the Arizona Daily Star, Sean Miller is staying put at Arizona. Arizona's AD Greg Byrne first tweeted the news and then confirmed with the media on Sunday.
"Sean and I have had discussions for months now and we’ve had to make sure we’re respectful of the guidelines and processes of the university and state of Arizona," Byrne said. "We've made tremendous improvements because of his leadership and he’s understood very clearly since the day I came to campus in Tucson that I’m thrilled he's our basketball coach. He certainly knows that I hope that he’s the coach for many years to come and our actions have gone to show that."
So, who is next for the Maryland?
Speculation from ESPN's Andy Katz is Brad Stevens followed by Mike Brey and Mark Turgeon. The Washington Post says Mike Brey is set to meet with Maryland officials.
The big argument when Gary Williams stepped down where this Maryland job stood as compared to its counterparts. It will be easy to find an answer as these coaches put their careers on the line in their decision making process. After Miller was supposedly a done deal yesterday, I told a media member that I thought that would confirm that the Maryland job was a top 10 job. On the other hand, If Maryland is spurned by coach after coach you'll see that become less and less true.
