Mississippi State bolstered its NCAA resume with a 75-69 win over Florida in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament. All five of the Bulldogs scored in double-figures, led by Barry Stewart with 17. All-SEC stud Jarvis Varnado chipped in 15 points, four rebounds, and four blocks.
After getting out to a 39-28 halftime lead, Mississippi State held on late, hitting clutch free throws to knock the Gators out of the tournament.
Kenny Boynton and Erving Walker combined to score 42 to points for the Gators, who now must rely on the selection committee to get put them in the Big Dance. Here is their resume, broken down by ESPN:
