Dear David,
First off I’d like to thank you for five years of dedication to THE Ohio State University. Secondly, can we call a search party to find your game? It seems to be missing for about three games now. Coincidentally against three of the toughest games of the season. You put up 19 points against Minnesota, then without notice you became very average. It seems as if you lost the confidence you carried earlier, as if you don’t look for your shot. When I think of the best slashers in the Big Ten, your name comes towards the top of the list. Stop passing up opportunities and take over a game when you need too. You’re a senior, you have paid your dues, reap the benefits.
Think back for a second, think all the way back to 2006. You were just stepping foot in Columbus for the first time as part of the “Thad Five.” You had just finished a stellar career at Cleveland Villa Angela St. Joe’s. You seemed like the forgotten man after Greg Oden, Mike Conley, and Daquean Cook. I don’t need to remind you of the fact that team made it all the way to NCAA Championship game. Leaders must have experience in obtaining the goal that the whole team is striving for. David, you are the only one on the team who has that experience. You must provide that leadership that Jared Sullinger, Aaron Craft, and Demetirus Thomas look towards. Every team needs a rock and it is your calling to be that rock. However, when you continue to miss key free throws at the end of games, you don’t look like much of a leader. It is no coinencidence that has you have been average, YOUR team has been average. Hell, YOUR team has lost two games. Now there is plenty of time to get back to being at the level you can easily obtain. We don’t care about the regular season, the real season begins in March.
This letter is not intended to be demaning of your character. Just a plea to try and get you back to where you can be. This team needs you David, and Buckeye Nation needs you. We care about you, please come back.
Sincerly,
Andrew Profio
