Mychal Ammons scored 13 of his 18 points in the second half to rally South Alabama from a six-point halftime deficit to a 65-56 victory over Florida Atlantic in a Sun Belt Conference game Thursday night. The Jaguars (12-9, 4-6), who won their second straight game, trailed 32-26 at halftime and by five points, 54-49, with 6:37 left to play. A layup by Trey Anderson and a 3-pointer by Freddie Goldstein tied the game, and four points by Goldstein and three by Ammons gave South Alabama a 61-54 lead with 1:19 remaining. Goldstein finished with 14 points for the Jaguars, Antione Lundy had 10, Augustine Rubit had nine points and 11 rebounds and Anderson had nine points and seven assists. Shavar Richardson and Greg Gantt scored 13 points apiece to pace the Owls (9-13, 5-4), who had won their past three games.
