Out of nowhere Frank Martin left Kansas State and took the South Carolina job. Why Martian did this I don’t know. He clearly had more talent at KSU than he does South Carolina. The Gamecocks lose their 3 out of their top 4 scorers. What really hurts is that two of those players transferred out of the program.
The strength of this South Carolina team will be in the backcourt, they are returning two starters from last year’s team. Heading the point guard duties will be Bruce Ellington (11 ppg). He is a very talent athlete, who is also on the school’s football team. Joining hi...

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Frank Martin patiently explained several things people should know about him as South Carolina's new basketball coach. One of the biggest, he stressed, is he doesn't get down on his guys, no matter how much he yells or glares during games.
So Martin wasn't surprised when South Carolina guard Brenton Williams rebounded from a late tongue-lashing from...
South Carolina's Bruce Ellington has begun to show how valuable he is to the Gamecocks football team. Ellington had another standout performance against Arkansas to continue his strong play of late.
Michael Carrera provided the early spark, LaShay Page brought them back in the second half, and Brenton Williams put it away in the end as South Carolina overcame a 17 point deficit early in the second half to come away with an 82-75 win over Wisconsin-Milwaukee Sunday afternoon in Frank Martin's official debut as coach.
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina freshman center Laimonas Chatkevicius will miss six games after the NCAA determined he received impermissible benefits before enrolling at the school. Gamecocks coach Frank Martin announced the suspension Sunday a few hours before the team began its season against Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The NCAA ruled the 6-foot-11 Chatkevicius got benefits...
South Carolina's star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney only had two tackles against Arkansas on Saturday. But both were for losses. And simply his presence was enough to disrupt the Razorbacks at every turn.
The sophomore came back to the sideline frustrated because he couldn't make a play.
Defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward pointed out the Razorbacks were using up to five...
His football season may be over, but Marcus Lattimore is still very much committed to his team and his supporters.
After suffering one of the most gruesome injuries in football history in a game against Tennessee on Oct. 27, Lattimore made it apparent he is not going to give up that easily and will return to the game.
As the South Carolina running back begins his recovery to repair...
South Carolina ends the Razorbacks' three-game win streak over USC with a 38-20 victory in Columbia. The Gamecocks record improves to 8-2 on the year, and 6-2 in the SEC.
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Connor Shaw threw for two touchdowns and ran for another score as No. 12 South Carolina beat Arkansas 38-20 on Saturday. Shaw was 15-of-23 for 279 yards for the Gamecocks (8-2, 6-2 Southeastern Conference), who finished with six league wins for only the second time in 20 years in the SEC. Arkansas (4-6, 2-4) will now have to beat both Mississippi State and...

Fans and players got a special video message from Marcus Lattimore saying thank you for their support and well wishes as he recovers from a knee injury. The video was played on the video board during the Gamecocks’ game vs. Arkansas. Great message, great guy.

Sorry for the delayed field report. Sunday's basketball game threw off my usual Sunday schedule, but I'll happily trade a tardy field report for a hard court win. If you are in Columbia and are available Friday night, go see Frank Martin's Gamecocks. You'll be glad you did. Anyway, on to the field report.
For the first time in 5 weeks the...
