Stetson 69, FAU 68

Associated Press  |  Last updated December 19, 2012
Chris Perez scored 16 points, the last two on a buzzer-beating follow to give Stetson a 69-68 win over Florida Atlantic Tuesday night. The Hatters (3-7) ended a six-game losing streak in dramatic fashion. Florida Atlantic's Greg Gantt, who led all scorers with 26 points, hit a 3-point shot with a hand in his face to five the Owls (5-6) a 68-67 lead with 7 seconds remaining. Perez then rebounded Aaron Graham's miss and scored at the buzzer to win it. Graham came off the Stetson bench to score 16 points. Adam Pegg added 15 and Joel Naburgs 10. Florida Atlantic led by double digits in the first half before leading 41-32 at the break. Later, a layup by Pablo Bertone (12 points) ended an Owls' drought of nearly 4 minutes, tying it at 60-60. Gantt then gave FAU two late leads, but Perez prevailed.
