Big 10 Rant: Wisconsin:
Jordan Taylor was named a second team All-American and Jon Leuer was an honorable mention as both players were recognized by the Associated Press Monday.
Taylor became only the fourth Badger to be named to the first or second team after averaging 18.1 points per game and finishing the season with a 3.81 assist-to-turnover ratio, the best in the nation. Alando Tucker was the last Badger to do so when he was named to the first team in 2007.
Leuer may have been in contention for second team honors as well, but probably cost himself consideration after his late-season skid culminated when he scored only three points in Wisconsin’s regional semifinal loss to Butler Thursday.
The AP did a pretty good job selecting its teams this season, although I was a bit surprised to see Kansas State’s Jacob Pullen left off of the first and second team. What did you guys think?
