Houston Astros All-Star shortstop Miguel Tejada is expected to plead guilty on Wednesday in a Washington federal courthouse to charges of lying to Congressional investigators. The filing of United States of America v. Miguel Tejada, is worded so that the 2002 American League Most Valuable Player and five-time all-star will face misdemeanor charges, which will most likely result in a fine, and a statement to the court that the matter will not occur again. He is not being charged with any felony perjury charges. Based upon the statute filed against Tejada, jail time seems highly unlikely. Tejada will appear in U.S. District Court of Washington at 11am (ET) on Wednesday.
