Robert Covington scored 22 points and Tennessee State overcame a 12-point deficit, then pulled away from Eastern Kentucky in the final minute of a 91-85 double-overtime win Saturday night. The Tigers (13-10, 6-4 Ohio Valley Conference) never trailed in either overtime, but the Colonels, led by Mike DiNunno with a career-high 33 points and Jaron Jones tying his career-high with 30, kept knotting the score. Tied for the 16th time in the game at 85-85 in the second extra period, M.J. Rhett scored on a layup with 52 seconds left, then Patrick Miller hit two free throws. Covington made two foul shots with 10 seconds left to seal it. Tennessee State has won eight straight over OVC opponents at home. Eastern Kentucky (12-11, 5-5) led 38-32 at halftime and 44-32 in the second half. Miller made three free throws in the last 48 seconds of regulation to force overtime.
