Terps guards struggling as Elon leads, 34-31

You know, last season it was the senior guards -- Greivis Vasquez and Eric Hayes -- that made Maryland special. It was their experience and poise and talent.. This season, Maryland's guards don't inspire that same fear from opponents. They don't control the game in the same way. The guards have struggled tonight and Elon leads at half, 34-31. Here's a stat: Until Terrell Stoglin's 3-pointer with 8:36 left in the first half, no Maryland guard had scored in the game. The Terps trailed at that point, 24-16. Will the Terps lose? Probably not. But Terps fans will hope this game is just a speed bump. The Terps are shooting 39 percent and have 10 turnovers to Elon's five.
