#23 Illinois (13-3) comes into Northwestern (7-9) on Sunday evening in the battle of Who Is Illinois’ B1G Team? Northwestern is led by Naperville native, Drew Crawford, who is averaging 15.7 points and 6.9 rebounds. Former Benet point guard, Dave Sobolewski, carries Northwestern with 3.2 assists. Northwestern, under new Head Coach, Chris Collins, has struggled in finding their identity so far this season, but are looking to take down #23 Illinois in what would be a big confidence boost for the Evanston natives. No matter how one sided, or how bad one team is, this matchup is always a great one. Illinois is led by Rayvonte Rice averaging 18.8 points, and 6.0 rebounds per contest. Tracy Abrams also pitches in with 3.2 assists per game. Illinois is coming off a tough game in which they took a good old fashion whooping from Bo Ryan and his Wisconsin ball club. Illinois has always struggled with Wisconsin, especially in the Kohl Center. The Fighting Illini are in a ‘tough’ part of their B1G schedule and they would love nothing more than to get a victory in Evanston on Sunday. The Illini need a victory to stay in the B1G hunt, tournament hunt, and to possibly keep their Top 25 Ranking alive. A statement win would be huge for John Groce and his ball club. I am fully expecting a tough matchup, even though Northwestern is struggling this year. It should be a good one in Evanston Sunday evening.   Follow @SportsMockery ____________ Photo(s): Fighting Illini; Chicago Now;  Writing Illini ____________ Sports Mockery is a leading provider of Chicago breaking sports news with prime focus on Chicago team sports.
