Similar to Louisville, the Connecticut Huskies haven’t quite lived up to their expectations this season. The defending national champions return a lot of experience from last year’s team, but have struggled quite a bit over the past few weeks. UConn has lost four of their last five games and is just 5-5 in league play. I personally thought the Huskies have been a little over-hyped throughout the entire season, but with that being said, they are still a very talented team. In their first game without head coach Jim Calhoun on Saturday afternoon the Huskies got a much needed win at Seton Hall by a score of 69-46.
Louisville is tied 6-6 in its all-time series with Connecticut, but has won four of the last five meetings. The Cards won two of three meetings last season. In the championship game of the Big East Tournament in Madison Square Garden, Kemba Walker scored 19 points to UConn to a 69-66 victory and the tournament title.
