The Devonta Pollard saga is still whirling on. Yesterday, Gary Parrish of CBS Sports reported that Devonta Pollard is no longer enrolled at The University of Alabama. Pollard, a rising sophomore forward, has been charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping of a 6-year old Mississippi girl over a family land dispute. The Associated Press reported the same. Devonta Pollard, recently charged in a kidnapping case, is no longer enrolled at Alabama, a source told @CBSSports. http://t.co/NgijzXHOu2 — Gary Parrish (@GaryParrishCBS) June 19, 2013 However, contrary to those reports, ESPN is claiming that Pollard still remains on the team at this time. While it seems unlikely that Pollard will step foot on the court this season, the university has yet to announce a decision on his future. Either way, it appears that this young man may be in serious trouble. Pollard’s court date is August 9. He potentially could serve as many as five years in prison with a $250,000 fine — meanwhile, his mother could face life in prison.
