Buffalo got off to a fast start, leading 17-8 less than five minutes in, but was unable to maintain their early momentum as they fell short in their upset bid vs. BYU 93-78 on Tuesday night. Mitchell Watt was hot early, scoring in double digits in the first half. He finished with 18 points and 8 rebounds while helping the Bulls stay competitive. Buffalo entered halftime trailing only 47-39 as they as they gave BYU a run for their money early on. Unfortunately for the Bulls, they had no shot once the Cougars woke up and decided to play. BYU ended the first half on a 10-2 run and carried that momentum into the second half as they went cruised to the easy victory. Leading the way for the Cougars was the scoring tandem of Brock Zylstra and Anson Winder. Zylstra led BYU with 26 points while Winder added 20 points off the bench. BYU did a good job of shutting down Bulls forward Javon McCrea. McCrea finished with 16 points and 4 rebounds but was never a factor in the game as he was absent ...
