Kennedy Meeks will give his decision between UNC or G’Town on where he will attend college]As I just wrote about in my preview of the game, UNC will be playing against LBSU tonight at 11:00 p.m. EST. But before this happen could the Heels win another battle, this time against G’Town, in getting West Charlotte’s 6’9″/285 lbs Kennedy Meeks to come to Chapel Hill to play his college ball. As I said in my first post about the senior, according to the four recruiting sites I visit he is ranked either as a four or five star recruit and in the Top 5 at his position. Meeks, who was at North Carolina on October 19 and at Georgetown the following week for his official visits, is set to announce during ESPNU’s Signing day special, which will be on from 7:00 p.m. EST until 8:00 p.m. EST from the young man’s hometown of Charlotte. From any and all of the recruiting specialists that I know all say that this is being playing very close to the vest and that anything being said by anyone would be a guesstimation and nothing more. My thought on all of this? As a fan I am hoping that Kennedy Meeks will play for head coach Roy Williams at North Carolina. As a unbias blogger who follows the Tar Heels? I am leaning just a tad towards UNC in this one, but that is mostly a gut feeling and nothing more. In this day and age of recruiting from now until when Meeks gives his choice he could easily change his mind once or twice or 100 times. And I do not blame the young man if he does, this might just be the most important decision he has had to make in his lifetime.
