According to Roy Williams, P.J. Hairston is not likely to play on Tuesday having contracted a flu bug to go along with his concussion from last week. He is one of three Tar Heels dealing with one ailment or another.

“Right now I think it's doubtful that P.J. Hairston will play tomorrow night. Yesterday when I left practice I thought that he would practice, but last night he got a little flu bug and he's been throwing up last night and this morning. They've got him over at the hospital right now with some IVs, so I think that'll postpone some of the things that he could do today in practice that could have got him ready. I'm not saying he's not going to play, but I think it's highly unlikely.”
“Yesterday he came in and did some shooting and moved around, and I was really enthused. The only thing I wasn't enthused about is that Desmond is laying over there against the goal support because he was sick and throwing up yesterday, and James Michael didn't practice because he hurt his back at the end of the game. And one of our other players was going to the bathroom - more information than you guys need to know - about every 10 minutes. I think it's just going through our team right now.
“I was very enthused when I left practice at 6:00 yesterday, and then I got in this morning and found out what kind of night PJ had and talked to him over at the hospital, so I'm not enthused at all right now.”
It would appear that some sort of flu bug is making the rounds on the team with P.J. Hairston and Desmond Hubert suffering ill effects from it. James Michael McAdoo injured his back near the end of the Virginia Tech game and did not practice on Sunday as a result. At this point, I would expect McAdoo to play but the jury is still out on both Hubert and Hairston.
Hairston's situation is a bit more complicated since he is coming off the concussion a week ago and now some sort of stomach flu has been added on top of that. The hope was Hairston would be able to practice today but since he had to receive fluids at the hospital, the chances he does anything more than watching is remote. That makes facing Wake Forest a bit tougher and puts pressure on Reggie Bullock and Leslie McDonald to not be a combined 1-13 from three again.

CHAPEL HILL, NC --- James Michael McAdoo made an early blunder in North Carolina's 72-60 overtime victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday that infuriated coach Roy Williams so much that he yanked the sophomore forward the next time the clock stopped.
McAdoo got the ball near the right elbow and dribbled diagonally across the lane into triple coverage. Hokies' guard Marquis...
CHAPEL HILL, NC -- North Carolina's stars filled their roles Tuesday night.
Sophomore forward James Michael McAdoo and junior wing Reggie Bullock Carolina's top two scorers on the season - each reached the 20-point mark for the first time in the same game this season. P.J. Hairston returned after missing a game because of a frightening concussion last week, and UNC had...
James Michael McAdoo (North Carolina)- McAdoo is probably coming off his best game of the season scoring 22 points and bringing down 10 rebounds. Wake Forest just gave up 32 points to Duke’s Mason Plumlee, so look for McAdoo to have a big game.
Trey Burke (Michigan)- If you can afford him, take him. Right now, I think he is the National Player of the Year. He is the...
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Reggie Bullock and James Michael McAdoo both eclipsed the 20-point mark in the same game for the first time this season. When you add in the 10 other Tar Heels that scratched the scoring column, North Carolina’s offensive explosion against Wake Forest was all but assured.
Yes, the standard disclaimer applies when a team is as bad as Wake Forest. In fact, I would argue UNC's defense wasn't nearly as sharp as it was against Virginia Tech. Wake Forest is just a bad team offensively which meant UNC didn't pay for mistakes on the defensive end. There were plenty of missed rotations and fouls for that matter but the Heels capitalized on turnovers...
