North Carolina star Marcus Paige announced via Twitter that he will forego the NBA draft this year and instead will be returning to school next year for his junior season, sort of. Time to move on and focus on improving this offseason. Next year has a chance to be special! — Marcus Paige (@marcuspaige5) March 25, 2014 Some are arguing that this was a generic tweet about UNC basketball and that he’s not necessarily saying he will be a part of the team next year. But then he retweeted this: I never thought for one second @marcuspaige5 was leaving. Kid is smart…he knows he has to work on some things and he wants to WIN !!! — Rod Bridgers (@rod_bridgers) March 25, 2014 I think this makes it pretty clear that Paige has no intention of declaring for the NBA draft and instead will stay at UNC for another year. The Tarheels’ season ended on Sunday when Iowa State defeated them 85-83 in the 3rd round of the NCAA tournament.
