Shabazz Muhammad is the No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2012.
The 6-foot-6 forward is wanted by schools across the country, a lengthy list that includes his hometown UNLV Runnin' Rebels.
UNLV and its fans would love nothing more than the services of Muhammad next season, and if that wasn't clear beforehand, it is clear now, as one fan presented a very unique request.
Muhammad claims that he received a tweet from a UNLV supporter with the notion that he would name his first-born child after the highly-touted recruit, if he committed.
While the request might seem a bit strange, UNLV fans have shown their support of Muhammad throughout his recruitment, campaigning the school in an effort to try and swing the nation's top prospect to join the program.
While UNLV is rarely in consideration for someone of Muhammad's caliber, the Rebels remain high on the list of potential suitors for the Bishop Gorman H.S. (NV) senior.
Indirectly, UNLV might have an even better connection in the hopes of landing Muhammad, and it is one that does not require a child to bear his name. In fact, UNLV head coach Dave Rice's younger brother, Grant, is the head basketball coach at Bishop Gorman.
While their is no set timetable for a commitment or decision from Muhammad, the list remains long, and includes a number of the top programs across the country.
Alongside UNLV, Muhammad is also considering UCLA, Kentucky, Duke, USC, Kansas, and Memphis, among others.
With Andre Drummond's recent decision to head to UConn for this upcoming season, Muhammad is now labeled as the consensus No. 1 player overall by all three major recruiting outlets.
