UNLV’s Mike Moser Continues Case for Player of the Year

UNLV Runnin Rebels’ Mike Moser battled a sore throat and head cold for two days. He even vomited twice before facing off against a surprisingly tough Boise State Broncos team. Instead of packing it in, the player of the year candidate did the opposite and led the Rebels to an overtime victory. Moser cashed in 18 points and grabbed a season-high 21 rebounds as UNLV survived a feisty Boise State team that took the Rebels to overtime. It was also Moser who was credited with a huge block at the end of regulation to force the overtime period. During the final five minutes Moser grabbed four rebounds and scored five points as UNLV improves to 19-3, 3-1 in the Mountain West Conference. According to an interview with ESPN, “Mike was very sick. He was too tough to miss practice, but for Mike to be as sick as he was and to play the way he did is very impressive.
