A reader passed along some information that I forgot about: The last time UD defeated URI was the same game that Chris Wright broke his foot. The loss of Chris Wright was one of the reasons we ended up in the NIT in 2008. Count that one as a different type of 'loss' and another reason for my URI disdain.Let's look at the last few encounters against URI, before we officially move on and look to the future:January 26, 2010: Chris Johnson hits three free throws with 15 seconds left to give UD a two-point lead. Marquis Jones dribbles down the court, gets a high screen, and hits a three-pointer to win the game.February 25, 2009: In overtime, Marcus Johnson hits a three-pointer with 12 seconds left to tie the game. URI gets the ball and Marquis Jones hits a layup at the buzzer to win the game.February 2, 2008: URI beats UD by 12 points. Not a whole lot of excitement, as UD trailed the entire game. 3-pointers: 13% for UD, 42% for URI.January 9, 2008: #22 UD defeats #20...
