STARKVILLE | Jarvis Varnado has been selected to the Associated Press' all-Southeastern Conference first team.
He was the only Mississippi State representative on the awards list.
LSU's Marcus Thornton was the only unanimous first-team selection. South Carolina's Devan Downey, Kentucky's Jodie Meeks and Tennessee's Tyler Smith followed Thornton, with Varnado, Florida's Nick Calathes and LSU's Tasmin Mitchell tying for the final spot.
Ole Miss' Terrico White was named newcomer of the year; LSU's Thornton was named player of the year and LSU's Trent Johnson was named coach of the year.
