Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a video comes along that blows your mind.
Marshall basketball coach Tom Herrion decided to take things into his own hands on Saturday in a close game against the University of Central Florida, flopping to the ground and writhing in pain after a late game bump from UCF’s Isaiah Sykes along the sideline.
Herrion’s “flop” earned the Thundering Herd a flagrant foul call, leading to a free throw by Damier Pitts, and an eventual 65-64 victory.
In my opinion, Herrion’s behavior was ridiculous and unsportsmanlike. Sykes’ little bump along the sideline certainly didn’t warrant the histrionics which we saw from Herrion afterwards.
The fact he was rewarded for his behavior by the referees– eventually leading to the Marshall win– is even more deplorable.
Congrats, Coach Herrion, you’ve earned a place in the Hall of Morons.
Hope the win was worth it.
