With Norfolk State up by two and a free throw from Rodney McCauley bounding off the rim, it was fitting that Norfolk State center Kyle O’Quinn was able to battle for the rebound and force the jump ball to secure possession for the Spartans and the 86-84 victory over Missouri. O’Quinn and the rest of the Spartans’ starting five played a gutsy game to upset #2 seed Missouri. The starters accounted for all 86 of their points, while four of their five starters played at least 31 minutes.

This was the first time since 2001 that a #15 seed was able to knock off a #2 seed in the NCAA March Madness Tournament. O’Quinn lead all scorers with 26 points and also added 14 rebounds.
