Devon Archie may be a senior for the Iowa hoops team, but he hasn’t played much in his Hawkeye career.
Against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Jan. 26, however, Archie made the most of his limited minutes with this ferocious posterization. Archie, a former two-star recruit from Indianapolis, has shown flashes of athletic brilliance in contrast with moments of cluelessness during his black and gold tenure.
But for one night, on a single play, Archie guaranteed his place on endless Hawkeye highlight reels for the next year. Congratulations to him. Of course, Iowa lost the game after leading by as many as 11, but something tells me a perpetual bench player like Archie won’t care. The next step is for Fran to give the high energy post more minutes to replace Melsahn Basabe’s apathetic corpse.
