Brigham Young senior guard Craig Cusick hit a game-winning shot against in-state rival Utah State just hours after learning his dad, Randy, had been diagnosed with cancer. And he just so happened to be in the right place at the right time to snatch the rebound off a miss from his teammate. He quickly caught the ball and immediately shot it back where it came from without even letting his feet touch the ground in the process. "As a player, you couldn't dream it any better," Cusick said. "I was just fortunate. … I saw that when Matt shot it there was a chance it would be a little bit short. I ran to where I thought it was going to come off and I was fortunate."Cusick's buzzer beater proved to be his field goal of the night."It's great that I made the shot, but I give all the credit in the world to my teammates during the game," Cusick said. "I made one shot the whole game."Cusick did not discuss his father's condition during his postgame news conference, but the Salt Lake Tribune provided some details. According to the paper, doctors found a cancerous tumor Tuesday afternoon, two days after Randy Cusick collapsed and had to be rushed to the hospital with a then-unknown condition.I'm sure his son's clutch moment helped brighten his spirits in an otherwise tough day.Via The Dagger
