The Florida Gators would like to take another couple of steps this basketball season. Two years in a row, the Gators have bowed out of the NCAA tournament just a point or two before making the Final Four. The nucleus is there for a great season and head coach Billy Donovan talked about it in front of the national media in Birmingham on Wednesday.

Florida forward/center Cody Larson has decided to leave the Florida basketball team. Throw The Flag is a mediocre blog that deals with jokes and memes and every once in awhile serious issues. Today! We rely on memes and over terrible things that only the blue collar man can relate to. I kind of like that. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Gators came into Saturday with four turnovers on the season. Florida was one short of that number in the first half alone and turned the ball over a total of six times against Georgia. After the Florida defense talked all week about causing strips and creating turnovers, the Florida offense struggled to maintain possession from its first drive in a 17-9 loss on Saturday.
Georgia’s 17-9 win over Florida wasn’t pretty, and it might not have happened if not for a wild play in the final few minutes to seal the win. But the Bulldogs did in fact seal the victory Saturday, their second straight over Florida.
In the process, they may have blown open the SEC Championship and BCS title races as well.
