WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — After coming off a tough road loss to Michigan on Wednesday night, the Indiana Hoosiers bounced back right away heading up highway I-65 to beat in-state rival Purdue 78-61. This was Tom Crean’s first win against Purdue since he took over Indiana in 2008. “Our guys did an excellent job of understanding that if you’re going to beat a really good team on the road, you’ve got to have great resolve, you’ve got to have toughness, you’ve got to get to the foul line, you’ve got to have a rebounding mindset and you’ve got to communicate,” Indiana coach Tom Crean said. “I’m proud of the way that they played.” The Hoosiers were missing senior guard Verdell Joness III due to a shoulder injury, so Victor Oladipo took the team on his back scoring a career high 23 points, with registering 8 rebounds.
