Virginia and Virginia Tech played a grinding, 55 possession game, where neither team scored more than 0.85 points per possession. After the previous timeout Virginia had broke the huddle with 6'8 Akil Mitchell guarding the Hokies' Dorenzo Hudson. On three of the previous four possessions Hudson had posted up smaller UVA guards, and he converted on two of those possessions (one jump hook, one trip to the line).
