Latif Rivers scored 19 points, including a 6-for-6 performance at the foul line in the game's final 1:12, to send Wagner to a 76-70 win over Lafayette on Saturday night.
Wagner (3-1) held a six point lead, 68-62, with 1:29 left and Rivers kept it that way with his free-throw shooting in the waning seconds, directly answering two Lafayette baskets by sinking foul shots.
Rivers opened the game with a 3-pointer and the Seahawks never trailed, starting the contest on a 13-3 run and leading 39-31 at the break. The Leopards (2-2) outscored Wagner 39-37 in the second half but it wasn't enough.
Wagner scored 20 points off 20 Lafayette turnovers.
Tyler Murray added 12 points for the Seahawks, while Naofall Folahan and Kenneth Ortiz chipped in 10 points apiece.
Ryan Willen led the Leopards with a double-double, scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 boards.
